Ok so another M.I.A story...
I'm listening to 99x on the way to work this morning and they are introducing new songs that they want listeners to vote on and see which one will be played on 99x. Well they played a new Nada Surf song that was really gay. Then the guy was like ok here is a remix from a band called M.I.A. it's a girl from london blah blah. then they start talking about the uk hip hop scene like they knew what they are talking about. So the remix was by System of a Down. WTF It was absolute SHIT. The intro sounds like a train wreck and it just totally fucks up the whole mia sound. Then the people calling in commenting on it were like "yeah this girl sucks" "this song is gay" "what the hell is this crap?" and I was getting pissed and I was gonna call in but I didn't know the damn number. grrr. They so didn't make it fair. M.I.A doesn't really sound as bad as that remix. Nothing beats the original tracks she has. Except maybe for some Diplo remixes of course. By and actual DJ. sheesh. Oh but what was friggin halarious is that one caller came on and name dropped 88.5 for playing MIA's music. It was awesome, 99x got pissed! haha. AND 99x made fun of Rap in the US compared to the UK bc we're sooo far away from UK we can't touch them bc we do the same bullshit over and over. OH! AND! that brings me to my next issue....has anyone heard the new Ying Yang Twins song that has all of the Kevin Aviance samples in it??? It has the Din Da Da song and the Shut Up song in it. Can somone explain that to me?? I wonder if they asked Kevin if they could use that? What is going on? lol that song is horrible and I feel bad that great house music could be remixed with some ghetto as rappers over it. heh. ok so looks like shits trying to blow up here. I'm noticing that underground bands and artist are becoming more mainstream more rapidly. crazy |

so Portfolio Preview is on Tuesday and um, yeah. I'm gonna be so screwed if I can't get 11 projects finished and perfect by then. I'm so stressed! I am not going out at all this weekend. Yeah you heard me. It's shocking isn't it? But school is just a lil more important right now. I will however being getting wasted labor day weekend bc I will not have to work on saturday. Thank the fucking lord. I will be soooo happy after I get Preview out of the way. God, 3 months until I graduate. Crazy.... |

teebee got cancelled for tomorrow :( I was really looking forward to seeing him <3. Now how about this new brendon lee party at North Atlantic Trade Center with RITM and Photek Dec.17? Any thoughts? Balzy move....I like the comment Jennifer made on Lunar about brendon using someone else's money to throw it. And NATC? I don't know if that venue can fill up even half way. I mean seriously this is a Rave but obviously that term died a long time ago in atl. Would be very cool if it actually fell through and there is supposed to be more headliners announced. Im very curious to see where this is going to end up. |

so i was bored and got this random urge to watch the video tape of an old outerlimits party with bad boy bill that i have at the atrium probably in 99/2000. It was great bc I spotted ppl I didn't even know back then that I know now. Uli,Dewy,Low, Dee, Tony, Colby, and some others maybe other people might recognize but I don't. Anyway, I need to burn that shit onto dvd and hand it out. If you want a copy let me know. I want to burn the video i have of paul oakenfold at phenomena in 99 too and my graduation party at the globe. ahhh memories. :P |

Has anyone seen The Roast of Pam Anderson on Comedy Central? Its halarious. If you want to see courtney love fat then watch it. She claims she has been drug free for a year but yknow I really don't think those drugs have worn off AT ALL. lol. oh and if you want to see Pam in a see through t-shirt then watch it. she gives a speach at the end where you can see her boobs very clearly then she grabs them for a min. August 7, Central Park Summerstage.
Now that is fuckin lucky. You get to see M.I.A for free in the park on a nice day. God, I am jelous right now. The Summerstages in NYC always kick ass. You better be there. ;)
